The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPAM) at the College of Public Health University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in health policy and health services research at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. At the department level, a new Ph.D. program in Health Services Research and Policy is in its final stages of approval for a program launch in the Fall of 2024. As such, the department is seeking to expand its expertise in health policy and health services research. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain a new Ph.D. program in Health Services Research and Policy. Successful candidates should have research interests and experiences in the organization and delivery of health services. Recruitment will be at the assistant or associate professor levels, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Priority areas of research include, but are not limited to, multidisciplinary and collaborative research regarding how social factors, financing systems, organizational structures and processes, health information technologies, and personal behaviors affect access to health care; the quality and cost of health care; health care utilization; health care management and leadership; quality metrics and measures; and the impact of federal, state, and local health policies on health and health care. We are looking for candidates with demonstrated achievements in these areas of research through scholarships and grantsmanships. The new faculty member must demonstrate the potential for building and maintaining a productive, extramurally funded research program. A commitment to graduate-level advising, mentoring, and teaching is required as the candidate will be involved in developing and teaching courses on advanced research methods, data analysis and seminar courses for the new Ph.D. program.
