Grayson Waits

Grayson Waits

Hi everyone! My name is Grayson Waits, and I am originally from Griffin, Georgia. I received my B.S. in biology from the University of Georgia in 2022.

I am currently a candidate for the MPH degree with a concentration in epidemiology. My research interests include, but are not limited to, women’s reproductive and sexual health, community health, and violence prevention. As a graduate research assistant for the Economic Evaluation Research Group (EERG), I have been able to gain experience in quantitative and qualitative research, while also participating in the academic writing of a manuscript. One of my favorite projects is the work I’ve done on a scoping review of strategies to combat COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. In the future, I look forward to refining my research and writing skills.

Additionally, I work with the Cottage Sexual Assault Center here in Athens as an accompaniment advocate for survivors of sexual assault. I also work as an intern for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Division of Reproductive Health.

Outside of academia, I can be found watching the latest reality TV show! I also enjoy reading, outdoor walks, and hanging out in downtown Athens with friends. Feel free to reach out to me regarding research, work, or hobbies!
